Dead.net's Grateful Dead cover project →
Dead.net is giving fans a chance to submit videos of them covering a Grateful Dead song which have the opportunity to be featured on the website throughout all next month. This is a really cool idea and grate way for fans to get involved with the community…
I am contemplating submitting something. I am by no means Jerry or Bobby on guitar or vocals, but I think what I lack in talent I try...

Jam Cruise 10 sets sail today
On a cruise with like-minded people as well as some great bands such as Umphrey’s Mcgee, 7 Walkers (Feat. Bill Kruetzmann), Soulive, Galactic, Keller and the Keels, and many more, sounds like paradise, quite literally.
One day in the next few years when I have a legit job and I would like to embark on this adventure. In the meantime, I will fantasize about what it must be like….

Smashing Pumpkins →
The Smashing Pumpkins are quickly rising as one of my new favorite bands. Their mix of grunge and alternative rock mixed with a touch of pyschedelia on top of Billy Corgan’s genius lyrics makes them easily one of the best bands of the 90’s, in my opinion…

Change in direction
So now that the social media class that I originally created this Tumblr for is over, I am going to move from a business to a more casual and personal approach for this page. I will give more of my opinions, and document my travels and life (mainly as they apply to live music) from here on forward. I will still update with jam band news and setlists, ect, but it just wont be as formal as...

Live Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers →
Been on a Petty buz lately. Here is a killer show from England 1980. Too bad Tom and the Heartbreakers don’t jam and play like this anymore. Highlights are the Fooled Again (I Don’t Like it), Breakdown and Shout as well as a standard, but rocking American Girl…

Soulive announces "Bowlive III" at Brooklyn Bowl
Call them funk, call them jazz, call them a “sometimes Beatles cover band,” or just call them rock and roll. Whatever they are classified, Soulive lives up to their name by bringing soul and passion into every live show they do. Yesterday, “Bowlive III” was announced, a 10 night residency at the iconic Williamsburg venue, Brooklyn Bowl. The 10 shows will feature many...

Bluegrass in Brooklyn
Two words that seemingly never go together: Bluegrass and Brooklyn. But tomorrow (Friday 12/9) the two will be in harmony as Cornmeal and Hot Buttered Rum play at the Brooklyn Bowl. Cornmeal, hailing from Chicago, and Hot Buttered Rum, hailing from San Francisco, play music about as far off as what you would generally think of when you hear Brooklyn, especially the neighborhood where the Brooklyn...

Buffrey's Mcgee →
The show that started it all for me. My first Umphreys show and still ranks as one of the best I have seen. The Jimmy Stewart jam out of the opening Example 1 had me intrigued, the 40s Theme got me primed and by the time they encored with In The Kitchen I was sold…

Furthur Buffalo setlist
I have been busy on the road and travelling but trying to keep these setlists updated. Now that the “NYS Thruway Tour” is over, I think I may have more luck in doing so. If I had to rate the 4 I saw, I would say they go:
1. MSG, 2. Buffalo, 3. Albany, 4. Syracuse. Though they were all excellent and among the best Furthur show’s I have seen since the bands formation in late...

Dead Garden Day 7. (From Facebook)
Dead Garden Day 7. November 21st, 2010 (Furthur.)
A bit of a curveball for today’s edition of the 10 Dead Garden Days. While not a Grateful Dead show, Furthur played a show at Madison Square Garden in November of 2010, part of a two night stand in New York City. These shows were just two of the four shows that the East Coast saw on that November swing, as the band treated their Midwest fans to a...
